The St. Peter's Eagles will face off against the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Peter's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let St. John the Baptist get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The critical scores for St. Peter's came from Victor Baez and Benjamin Terry.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Terry, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

One reason for the win was St. Peter's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Daniel Mills and Christopher Badon, who racked up five sacks between them. Badon also made four total tackles, which is notable because St. Peter's is 4-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in October. They took down Xaverian 20-6 last Saturday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Clippers are ranked 206th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Peter's better keep an eye on Sinclair Miles. He was instrumental in St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's win, picking up 96 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 96 receiving yards gave Miles a new career-high.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Peter's, their record is now 6-4.
St. Peter's won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in September, slipping by St. Joseph-by-the-Sea 15-14. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
