Southside has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Wilcox Central Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Wilcox Central is ranked 121st).
Last Monday, Southside had to suffer through a rough 67-39 loss at the hands of Lanier. Southside has not had much luck with Lanier recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Wilcox Central entered their tilt with Central of Coosa County with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Wilcox Central took down Central of Coosa County 66-52 on Saturday.
Southside has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Wilcox Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
