Whittier has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Maranatha Minutemen who were credited with the victory on Friday. The Maranatha Minutemen got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Whittier Cardinals' three. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Minutemen from their previous meeting back in December of 2021.

Whittier's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Maranatha, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-7-1 record.
