The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They took down West County 59-41.
Luke Eggemeyer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Owen Bucheit, who scored 11 points.
Saxony Lutheran's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for West County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
Coincidentally, Saxony Lutheran and the Bulldogs will both be playing the Blue Jays the next time they take the court. Saxony Lutheran will host the Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th.
