The First Flight Nighthawks will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against the D.H. Conley Vikings  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. First Flight will be strutting in after a  win while D.H. Conley will be coming in after a  defeat.
First Flight is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Beddingfield. First Flight was the clear victors by  a  29-1 margin over Beddingfield on Wednesday. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Nighthawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Ben LaVier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. LaVier was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dillon Francis, who  got on base  in all six of his plate appearances with three  runs and four  RBI. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  runs. Another player making a difference was  Cruz Lancaster, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, D.H. Conley didn't have quite enough to beat Holly Springs on Saturday and fell  4-3. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.
D.H. Conley also got a good showing from  Tucker Anderson, who   struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Nolan Winfield was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with one  home run and one  double.
