The Le Grand Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Delhi Hawks, and things went their way on Friday too. Le Grand came out on top against Delhi by a score of 28-21. The win made it back-to-back wins for Le Grand.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Le Grand to victory, but perhaps none more so than Diego Martinez, who threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Alexis Granados and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Le Grand's victory.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roberto Chan, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Chan's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
Le Grand's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for Delhi, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which lines up perfectly with their 2-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Le Grand will face off against Mariposa County at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mariposa County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Delhi, they will head out on the road to face off against Ripon Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Ripon Christian will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
