Montverde Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Foundation Academy as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three games in a row.
Sid Goecke tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Max Irving and Alex Bello did most of the damage at the plate: Irving went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Bello went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Irving a new career-high. Miguel Ramos was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Montverde Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foundation Academy only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for The First Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Santa Fe Catholic 5-4.
Matthew Rondon looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Cannon Koronka was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Wells, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Montverde Academy's record is now 17-8. As for The First Academy, their record now sits at 18-10.
The First Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Montverde Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for The First Academy, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Montverde Academy's hitters?
