The Mira Mesa Marauders had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 28-19 win over Christian on Friday. The win was just what Mira Mesa needed coming off of a 50-10 loss in their prior match.
Tyson Line went supernova for Mira Mesa, throwing for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Brown, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Spencer Johnson. Despite the final result, he threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Mira Mesa's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will take on Morse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 526th, while Mira Mesa is ranked 241st). As for Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th. La Jolla is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
