It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 54-6 victory over Grayson Christian on the road. The win was all the more spectacular given Annapolis Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1140th, while Grayson Christian is ranked 156th).
Among those leading the charge was Chuck Brushe, who threw for 83 yards and four touchdowns on only seven passes.
The win was the third in a row for Annapolis Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Grayson Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Annapolis Christian Academy will square off against Sunnybrook Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunnybrook Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Grayson Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
