The Liberty Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Lincoln County at home and fell 68-32. Liberty was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.
Lincoln County found their leader in underclassman Chevelle Salmons, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Salmons has scored at least 25% of Lincoln County's points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Moore, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Liberty bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lincoln County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will stay at home for another game and welcome Van at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Lincoln County will take on Scott at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Scott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday.
