MaxPreps Academy Top 10 presented by the Army National Guard
1. (No. 1 last week) Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), 23-0The Pilots will take on a couple of area high schools this week, including Desert Pines (Las Vegas) on Saturday at the Las Vegas Hoop Fest. The event also features Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), Simeon (Chicago) and White Station (Memphis, Tenn.).
2. (2) St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.), 18-0Prep hosts the Newark National Invitational on Friday at the Prudential Center. The main event is a showdown with Xcellent 25 No. 4 St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.), which owns an 81-game win streak.
3. (3) Prime Prep (Dallas), 21-0Prime swept three games at the Southwest Prep Showcase in Arizona over the weekend.
4. (5) Montverde Academy (Fla.), 22-2Kevin Boyle's crew bounced back from a tough week by capturing their own Montverde Academy Invitational, beating No. 5 La Lumiere 57-38 in the final.
5. (4) La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), 22-2La Lumiere's two losses this season have come in tournament finals against No. 1 Findlay Prep and No. 4 Montverde Academy.
6. (6) Huntington Prep (W.Va.), 22-2The Express went 3-for-3 over the weekend in Ohio, though scrappy Mentor nearly pulled off an upset Saturday at the Dunk 4 Diabetes Shootout.
7. (7) Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 21-3OHA will face Impact Academy (Las Vegas) this weekend at the Las Vegas Hoop Fest, then returns to Virginia to play 10 of its final 12 games at home.
8. (8) Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.), 24-0The Buffaloes blew out Ford Power House (Chicago) and Creating Young Minds Academy (Irving, Texas) over the weekend.
9. (9) Greensboro Day (N.C.), 29-0The Bengals just keep winning. The latest was a big one, beating High Point Christian 61-58 on Saturday. Plenty of roadblocks still stand in the way of an undefeated regular season for Greensboro Day, however.
10. (10) Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, Fla.), 20-2How did the Apaches go from three losses last week to just two this week? North Florida Educational Institute (Jacksonville) forfeited a November game for using an ineligible player.
