Holdenville has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Meeker Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Holdenville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Wewoka. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holdenville has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Belle Mcfarland, who scored 11 points. Cylee Null was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Meeker's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 58-33 loss at the hands of Varnum. While losing is never fun, Meeker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Varnum is ranked 60th).
Holdenville's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-1. As for Meeker, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Holdenville against Meeker in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 65-25 victory. With Holdenville ahead 47-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
