The Jacksboro Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Vernon Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jacksboro has three straight wins, Vernon has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Jacksboro was able to grind out a solid win over City View, taking the game 50-42.
Jacksboro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Walker, who scored 23 points. The matchup was Walker's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kylie Tullous, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Vernon had to settle for a 48-46 loss against Iowa Park on Friday. Vernon has struggled against Iowa Park recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Jacksboro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Vernon, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Jacksboro beat Vernon 48-41 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Jacksboro repeat their success, or does Vernon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
