The Olympic Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Palisades Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympic will be strutting in after a victory while the Pumas will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Wednesday, Olympic strolled past the Rams with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. The victory was just what Olympic needed coming off of a 64-34 loss in their prior game.
Chai James was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Seniyah Johnson, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Palisades was the victim of a tough 67-41 defeat at the hands of the Sabres on Friday. While losing is never fun, Palisades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Sabres are ranked 131st).
Despite the loss, Palisades got a solid performance out of Brooklyn Young, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Young is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for seven games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Estelle Macho, who scored six points.
Olympic's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for Palisades, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Olympic strolled past the Pumas when the teams last played back in January by a score of 51-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Olympic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
