The Freedom Eagles will head out to challenge the Broad Run Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Freedom is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since March 28th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Gainesville 7-6. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Riley Picinich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jordan Miller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Avery Greenfield was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Freedom hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gainesville struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Broad Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Woodgrove, falling 7-1.
Anna Weltens was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Weltens was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Freedom's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Broad Run, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Broad Run's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Freedom has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. It's a different story for Broad Run, though, as they've only averaged .325. Will they be able to contain Freedom's hitters?
Freedom took their win against Broad Run when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-11 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
