Elijah Diaz posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. The effort marked the fewest earned runs he has had since back in February.

Diaz and Queen's Grant will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Piedmont Community Charter at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long.
