Mandeville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Slidell Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Mandeville is ranked 93rd, while Slidell is ranked 83rd).
Last Friday, Mandeville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-38 to Northshore.
Meanwhile, Slidell waltzed into their game on Saturday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They enjoyed a cozy 68-54 victory over Bourgeois.
Slidell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden Hookfin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jerry Birdlow, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Mandeville's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for Slidell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
Mandeville beat Slidell 74-64 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mandeville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
