The Bridgeport Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Caldwell Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Bridgeport lost to Waterloo at home by a decisive 28-12 margin.
Meanwhile, Caldwell can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 37-6 victory over Shenandoah. The victory was just what Caldwell needed coming off of a 54-20 loss in their prior contest.
Caldwell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Petry, who picked up 47 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Cale Bender was another key contributor, throwing for 146 yards and three touchdowns.
Bridgeport's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.3 points per game. As for Caldwell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Bridgeport was taken down by Caldwell 49-14 in their previous matchup back in September of 2014. Can Bridgeport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
