The North Springs Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 29-20 to Cambridge. North Springs has not had much luck with Cambridge recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, North Springs still got an impressive performance from Jaden Woods, who picked up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Woods' longest reception was for an incredible 83 yards.
Tyler Blalock was on fire for Cambridge: he rushed for 213 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry.
North Springs bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Cambridge, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
North Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cambridge will face off against Hiram at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hiram presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cambridge in Georgia (Hiram is ranked 50th, while Cambridge is ranked 179th).
