The Shoals Christian Flame posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Waterloo 43-41. Given Shoals Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Waterloo is ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sarah Davis (2025) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. Kaleigh Owen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Shoals Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Waterloo, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cherokee the next time they take the court. Shoals Christian will host Cherokee at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Waterloo will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
