The Rock County Christian Eagles just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Academy of Excellence Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rock County Christian has three straight wins, the Warriors have four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Rock County Christian gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 60-35 margin over Waukesha Christian Academy. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Rock County Christian just coasted through the last quarter.
Rock County Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tony Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Gabriel Thompson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Academy of Excellence was beaten by the Rams 69-25 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Academy of Excellence has scored all season.
Rock County Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Academy of Excellence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Rock County Christian strolled past the Warriors when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rock County Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
