While Russell County's victory against Park Crossing wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors skirted past the Thunderbirds 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Thunderbirds since April 11, 2023.

Carter Cannon looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Russell County let Cameron Brewer and Carson Carswell run wild. Brewer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Carswell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Brewer has posted since back in April of 2025. Wyatt Shrouff also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Russell County's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Park Crossing, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Looking ahead, Russell County will challenge Brookstone at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Park Crossing, they will face off against Montgomery Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
