The Gallup Bengals lost against the Farmington Scorpions back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Gallup took a 57-41 bruising from Farmington. Gallup has struggled against Farmington recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Farmington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maleah Charlie led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kapiolani Anitielu, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Gallup's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Farmington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Gallup will head out on the road to face off against Window Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Window Rock will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Farmington and Navajo Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
