Fleming is 4-0 against Lone Star since March of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Fleming Wildcats will stay at home for another game and welcome the Lone Star Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Fleming focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Fleming's and Arickaree's matchup was close at halftime, but Fleming turned on the heat in the second half with 24 points. Fleming blew past Arickaree 44-24.
Fleming found their leader in underclassman Brooke Schaefer, who scored 14 points along with six steals. Schaefer is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Serrato, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Lone Star came up short against Hi-Plains on Friday and fell 41-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lone Star has scored all season.
Fleming's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lone Star, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Fleming against Lone Star in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 66-19 win. With Fleming ahead 38-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
