Basketball Recap: Lapwai Skates Past Potlatch with Ease

Lapwai waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Potlatch Loggers 76-27. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 27 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lapwai to victory, but perhaps none more so than Junee Picard, who went 6 of 10 en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Picard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylin Picard, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 11 points and four steals.

Lapwai smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Lapwai's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Potlatch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.

As of now, neither Lapwai nor Potlatch have any future games scheduled.
