The Pendleton Heights Arabians stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Connersville with a sharp 63-42 win. The victory was familiar territory for Pendleton Heights who now have three in a row.
Pendleton Heights was led to victory by Adah Hupfer and Kaycie Warfel. Hupfer dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Warfel scored 30 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Warfel has scored at least a third of Pendleton Heights' points. Olivia Jones was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hailey Sembach, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ahniyah Bennett, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Pendleton Heights' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. As for Connersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Pendleton Heights will head out on the road to take on North Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully North Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Tuesday. As for Connersville, they will be playing at home against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Rushville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
