The Hope Christian Academy Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-49 to Lutheran. Hope Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lutheran apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Christian Fontaine was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for Lutheran. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Rooker, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Hope Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Lutheran, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Hope Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Novi Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Novi Christian Academy is ranked 662nd, while Hope Christian Academy is ranked 671st). As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on Parkway Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Parkway Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Monday.
