Mycroft Newkirk posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has become a key player for Tarpon Springs: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise.
