Hayezon Jackson Delivers Best Performance of Season
Hayezon Jackson produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Clayton Valley Charter to the win on Friday. Jackson rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (110.7) per game. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
The win (which was Clayton Valley Charter's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Jackson and Clayton Valley Charter will host Acalanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Josh Elerts Leads Acalanes over Miramonte
On Friday, Acalanes got the W thanks in part to Josh Elerts playing the best football he has all season. Elerts rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made a tackle.
Acalanes pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Elerts and Acalanes will take on Clayton Valley Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mercado might have his next game, a home matchup with Campolindo, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Mercado saw the Cougars), he picked up 204 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Miramonte had to settle for second on Friday, but Carson Blair sure wasn't going down easily. Blair was unstoppable, throwing for 348 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 36 yards and two touchdowns.
Miramonte's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. Blair and Miramonte will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clayton Valley Charter at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.
