Halls has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Heritage Mountaineers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Halls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, Halls was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Powell. While losing is never fun, Halls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Powell is ranked 44th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gabe Holmes, who scored 11 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Lane, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Heritage suffered a tough 73-53 defeat at the hands of William Blount on Friday. Heritage has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Halls' win bumped their season record to 5-4 while Powell's defeat dropped theirs to 6-1.
Halls was able to grind out a solid win over Heritage in their previous matchup last Thursday, winning 65-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Halls since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
