Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Heritage Patriots, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by El Cerrito 55-17 on Friday. Heritage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
Phillip Babbitt threw for 162 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 162 yards and a touchdown. Brooks Davis was his top target, picking up 130 receiving yards. On the ground, Mekhi Adanandus rushed for 55 yards.
Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for El Cerrito, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. El Cerrito will take on Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Windsor will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
