Basketball Recap: Ahoskie Christian Comes Up Short

Ahoskie Christian lost against Pamlico Christian Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between Ahoskie Christian and the Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners didn't end well, with Ahoskie Christian falling 77-58. Ahoskie Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Ahoskie Christian lost, don't look at Jaelen Rascoe. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. Rascoe is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 15 games he's played. Tyler Martin was another key player, going 9 for 14 en route to 21 points.

Trent Gaskins was a one-man wrecking crew for Pamlico Christian Academy as he went 9 of 15 on his way to 22 points along with six boards and five steals. Those 22 points gave Gaskins a new career-high. Levi Mercer also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Ahoskie Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ahoskie Christian will venture away from home to face off against Terra Ceia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. One thing working in Terra Ceia Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Heritage Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pamlico Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
