Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside-Durham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jelaya Smith, who scored eight points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Juleah Somers, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
Riverside-Durham's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Enloe, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside-Durham will challenge Durham Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Enloe, they will head out on the road to face off against Wakefield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
