Baseball Recap: Truman Has No Trouble Against Chrisman

Truman not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 17-2). Everything went their way against the Chrisman Bears as they made off with a 15-2 win. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Hayden Rogers spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Truman got a massive performance out of Trevor Ottens, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Ottens a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nich Dawson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory got Truman back to even at 11-11. As for Chrisman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Truman will challenge Platte County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chrisman, they will square off against Raytown at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
