Basketball Recap: Triad's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Triad came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 57-50 win over the Jersey Panthers. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Panthers are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loss or not, Jersey got some senior leadership from Jaxon Brunaugh and Aiden Kendall. Brunaugh posted 18 points and five rebounds, while Kendall had 11 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Kendall has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of John Paul Vogel, who scored six points.

Triad's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games. As for Jersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-20.

Triad didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-31 win against Cahokia on the 26th. As for Jersey, they have also already played their next contest, a 62-34 loss against Highland on the 26th.
