After five games on the road, Cunningham is heading back home. They will take on the Norwich Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cunningham will be strutting in after a victory while the Eagles will be coming in after a defeat.
Cunningham can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Fairfield 77-56. Given Cunningham's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Falcons are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cunningham relied on the efforts of Luke Albers, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Will Wegerer, who shot 5-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wegerer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dagim Reed, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Norwich was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 44-39 to the Cougars.
Cunningham is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Norwich, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Cunningham was able to grind out a solid victory over the Eagles in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 48-41. Will Cunningham repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
