Noah Putney was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Putney was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Keller Williams looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on T.J. Powell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Tingen, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Clover Hill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
As for Thomas Dale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
On Thomas Dale's side, Owen Klimek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Thomas Dale saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Stancil, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Clover Hill will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
