Even though the Galena Pirates have not done well against the Scales Mound Hornets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Galena came out on top against Scales Mound by a score of 62-55. The win was nothing new for Galena as they're now sitting on five straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Galena to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Glasgow, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Glasgow's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Kaden Hauber was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Galena has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Scales Mound, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.
Galena will head out on the road to face off against Eastland on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Eastland is ranked 241st, while Galena is ranked 262nd). As for Scales Mound, they will square off against Rochelle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rochelle has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-3 during that stretch of close contests.
