The Pinewood Prep Panthers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 win over Northwood Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Pinewood Prep, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austyn Grady, who punched in a rushing score, and also threw for 226 yards and a touchdown.
Pinewood Prep's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.3 points per game. As for Northwood Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Pinewood Prep will look to defend their home field on November 4th against First Baptist School at 7:30 p.m. First Baptist School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Northwood Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilson Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
