The Gage Park Fighting Owls had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over Tilden on Tuesday. Gage Park's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jose Pacheco, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Pacheco is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavon Davis, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Gage Park's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Tilden, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Gage Park will head out on the road to challenge Victoria Soto at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Victoria Soto is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Tilden will take on Instituto Health Sciences at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Instituto Health Sciences is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
