The Prairiland Patriots suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Edgewood 52-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Prairiland in their matchups with Edgewood: they've now lost seven in a row.
Leading Edgewood to victory were Kassidy Paul and Blair McPherson. Paul dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while McPherson scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Paul has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brilee Ditto, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Prairiland has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-16 record this season. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lone Oak the next time they take the court. Edgewood will head out to face Lone Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Prairiland will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
