The Western Alamance Warriors kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Northwest Guilford. Western Alamance lost against Northwest Guilford in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-59 score last time.
Western Alamance's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Long , who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Jaden Danieley was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Western Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Northwest Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Alamance will take on Eastern Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest Guilford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Durham School of the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Durham School of the Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
