Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

First Baptist Academy waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 63-49 win over the Legacy Christian Academy Rams. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

First Baptist Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Levine out in front who posted 22 points. Levine continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Timothy De La Rosa was another key player, putting up 16 points.

First Baptist Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-13. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-5.

First Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-53 victory against Hill Country Christian on the 4th. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will take on First Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th.
