The Newark Academy Minutemen waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 57-53 win over West Orange. This was payback for Newark Academy, who suffered a 66-47 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zoe Francis-Bunkley, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrienne TaylorKamara, who scored 13 points.
