Stearns had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Penobscot Valley Howlers by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-3 back in May.

Stearns' win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Penobscot Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.
