River Ridge took the game and then some with a 56-21 victory on Thursday over Clover Park. River Ridge were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
River Ridge's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 35 points in the first half. Clover Park wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 35-7 heading into the break. The offense for River Ridge continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 21 points to put the game away. The win bumped their record up to 4-3. Clover Park are on a four-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 3-4.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week River Ridge take on Orting at 7:00 PM. Orting took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse River Ridge's good fortune. Clover Park will be staying on the road, facing off against Steilacoom.
