The LaBrae Vikings will head out to take on the Hubbard Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. LaBrae will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
LaBrae proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Liberty 5-4.

Riley Rowe was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, LaBrae let Morgan Thompson and Leah DeArmitt run wild. Thompson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while DeArmitt went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Hubbard not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 17-2). They put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 16-2 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three contests in a row.
Like LaBrae, Hubbard also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaylee Schultz. On the mound, Schultz struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Haleigh Taylor tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Schultz has posted since back in March. At the plate, Schultz went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Taylor went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Lauren Komorek was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Layla Songer was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Hubbard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
LaBrae pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Hubbard, their record now sits at 9-5.
Hubbard's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: LaBrae has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. It's a different story for Hubbard, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given LaBrae's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
LaBrae couldn't quite get it done against Hubbard in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 10-7. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
