It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Checotah Wildcats can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 38-13 walloping at the hands of Holland Hall on Friday. Checotah has struggled against Holland Hall recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Checotah's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Thomas, who picked up 84 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Leading Holland Hall to victory were Julius Wilson and Trey Burleson. Wilson picked up 109 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Burleson threw for 191 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes. Lj Mcghee and his 122 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Holland Hall's win.
Checotah's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Holland Hall, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Checotah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holland Hall will take on Perkins-Tryon at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Perkins-Tryon's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six contests.
