Baseball Recap: Sneads Has No Trouble Against Seminole County

Sneads won the last time they faced Seminole County and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Indians. Considering the Pirates have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Creed Whitworth made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Whitworth was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Sneads is undefeated when Whitworth posts two or more runs, but 6-12 otherwise.

In other batting news, Sneads got a massive performance out of John Loftus, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits Loftus has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Williams, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sneads kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Sneads is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Seminole County, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.

Sneads and Seminole County are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Pirates will square off against Poplar Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sneads' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Atomics have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Seminole County, they will challenge Miller County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
