Baseball Recap: Walkertown Has No Trouble Against North Forsyth

Walkertown never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the North Forsyth Vikings as they made off with a 17-0 win. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Owen Tidd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Caden Joyce and Westin Tompkins did most of the damage at the plate: Joyce scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Tompkins scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cam Smith, who scored two runs and stole three bases.

Walkertown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Forsyth only posted an OBP of .091.

Walkertown's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for North Forsyth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Walkertown beat the Vikings by a score of 15-0 later that day.
